Short history

On the 1 of November 1949 the "Steagul Rosu" co-operative was founded, profiled on shoes production. The next year, on the 1 of March the "21 Decembrie" co-operative was founded, profiled on ready-made clothes.
In the years that followed after three merges the  Sarguinta co-operative is formed.

On the 1 of November 1957 after the fusion of "Steagul Rosu" with "21 Decembrie" the "Solidaritatea" co-operative is founded;

Two years later, on the 1 of November 1959, after the merge of "Solidaritatea", "Dinamo", "Unirea", "Rasaritul Nou", "Ceramica" and "Igiena" the "Sarguinta" co-operative is formed;

On the 26-th December 1963 they are joined by "Progresul" co-operative;

In the next 30 years several divisions took place:

On the 1 of June 1967 "Arta Populara" detaches from "Sarguinta";

A year later other three new co-operatives split: "Progresul", "Deservirea" and "Constructorul";

On the 31 of March 1982 "Oltul" detaches from "Sarguinta"; And on the 1 of July 1984 the "Lotru Brezoi" co-operative;

On the 1 of October "Tricotextil" co-operative splits;

The last detachment takes place on the 1 of July 1994 when "Socom Moda" tears away; In the last 3 years "Sarguinta" obtained the first place in the county at large enterprises in the textile industry; in 1999 we also obtained the third place in the direct exporters classification (the classification is made on the foreign currency quantity brought in the county) in the textile industry. Now we have over 400 employees, a 350.000 $ capital, and a turnover that exceeds 1.500.000 $ this year.

SCM Sarguinta RM. VALCEA has a ready-made clothes prevalent profile. The enterprise also has a design team which designs models that are then multiplied in the production sections.

Export tailoring represent 98.5% of the production and 86% of the turnover.
